When you hear "being present" what comes to mind? Being fully, or at least broadly, aware of what's going on? Seeing clearly the situation at hand? Kind of. I mean, something like that. The inspiration behind the idea of Being Present is that you are including in YOUR now moment, in your PRESENT, the whole of you which is the other side to the story you're focusing upon, the UP to the down --the perspective of the Spirit within you that IS YOU. The Unconditonal Self. The ONLY reason you feel off or bad in not "being present" is because you're deviating from the alignment of that perspective, of what your Spirit knows about who you REALLY are and what's REALLY going on. BE the LIGHT. That's what that means too. In other words, "being present" is when whatever you're giving your attention to you envelop the matter or object of your attention with the broad perspective of your Higher Self, Inner Being, Spirit --whatever you want to call it. So no, being present does not mean looking at all of what is "as is" and assimilating --no way. It involves you hooking up to that broader perspective and then grounding it into or at whatever you're focusing upon then concluding from THERE what you will based on that broader understanding. That is what Being Present means. Meaning sometimes you will have to turn the other cheek to contrary evidence which may be present in trade for seeing things how Source sees them in the very same NOW Present! The benefits of doing so are immense. The Positive and Negative are both NOW. What you get in your now is your choice. Don't be a detective for "what is", especially do not try to dawn the perspective of another, (there is no value for you in that because you are not designed to think for another or understand how they think, plus you teach by the clarity of your example --not by how much you understand those who do what you don't) rather be a lawyer who makes a solid case for their Inner Being who knows that all is truly well. That will win you the leverage of their perspective on whatever matter it may be, every time.
